MADRID, SPAIN.-The third edition of Art Madrid will be held on February 13 - 17, 2008. Art Madrid 08 will receive 78 galleries, 59 of them Spanish and 19 international. Art Madrid’s organizers, Arte y Asociados, will launch FIART VALENCIA, the first edition of the International Fair of Contemporary Art of Valencia. After last year’s economic success and high-level turnout of visitors, Art Madrid 08 will have 4.500 square meters of exhibition space, 20% more than last year's.

The fair will receive 78 galleries, most of them Spanish (59). Of the 19 foreign galleries, 6 are from South America, 4 from North America, 8 from other European countries and 1 from Korea. European participation gains distinction with the presence of 5 important Portuguese galleries. The international galleries come from 12 different countries other than Spain: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Cuba, France, Germany, Korea, Nederlands, Portugal, Slovenia and the United States.

Art Madrid maintains the number of galleries at 78 in order to give priority to artistic quality. A pool of 157 galleries applied to take part in the fair. Noteworthy is the first time participation of 23 galleries in Art Madrid.

A new contemporary art fair in Valencia

Arte y Asociados, Art Madrid's organizing company, is launching the first edition of FIART VALENCIA, the International Fair of Modern and Contemporary Art of Valencia. The fairgrounds will include 4.000 square meters of exhibition space and a projection of 50 participating galleries.

FIART VALENCIA will be held from September 25th to October 1st, 2008, at the Feria de Valencia pavillions, coinciding with Habitat Valencia Forward, an event that includes the International Furniture Fair of Valencia and the International Decoration Fair which, in the last edition, received more than 80.000 professional visitors. The galleries' inscription period for this new fair will open in February 2008.
