MADRID, SPAIN.-The third edition of Art Madrid will be held on February 13 - 17, 2008. Art Madrid 08 will receive 78 galleries, 59 of them Spanish and 19 international. Art Madrids organizers, Arte y Asociados, will launch FIART VALENCIA, the first edition of the International Fair of Contemporary Art of Valencia. After last years economic success and high-level turnout of visitors, Art Madrid 08 will have 4.500 square meters of exhibition space, 20% more than last year's.
The fair will receive 78 galleries, most of them Spanish (59). Of the 19 foreign galleries, 6 are from South America, 4 from North America, 8 from other European countries and 1 from Korea. European participation gains distinction with the presence of 5 important Portuguese galleries. The international galleries come from 12 different countries other than Spain: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Cuba, France, Germany, Korea, Nederlands, Portugal, Slovenia and the United States.
Art Madrid maintains the number of galleries at 78 in order to give priority to artistic quality. A pool of 157 galleries applied to take part in the fair. Noteworthy is the first time participation of 23 galleries in Art Madrid.
