SAN FRANCISCO, CA.- On Sunday, July 30, 2017, Turner Auctions + Appraisals is pleased to present over 200 lots of Southwest jewelry and sculpture – Part 4 of the private collection from the vault of a major Southern California dealer/collector. Jewelry offerings – many old pawn items handcrafted of heavy, solid sterling or coin silver and embellished with gem-quality turquoise or coral stones, hardstone or coins – feature works from the Navajo and Zuni. The majority were crafted by talented artists; many include maker’s marks.

Among the exceptional range of items are cuff, Mexican silver and other bracelets; squash blossom and heishi necklaces and sets; concho belts; belt buckles; watch cuffs and watch bands; Western belt buckles; men's and ladies' rings; decorative silver items; match boxes; jewelry items including earrings, pendants, pins, barrettes and other hair ornaments; naja (pendants); bolo ties; ketohs; hat bands; and several jeweler's groups of miscellaneous turquoise in varying shapes and sizes.

This sale presents some of the premier pieces of the entire five-part collection, which was carefully amassed over 30+ years with the goal of acquiring the finest examples of handwork available. Among the highlights are a massive turquoise cuff bracelet (5-1/2 inches long); sterling silver kachina sculptures; richly adorned concho belts; and exceptional squash blossom necklaces.

Turner Auctions + Appraisals begins its online sale Sunday, July 30 at 10:30 am PDT; sale items can be previewed online until the sale starts. The online auction is featured live on Invaluable and LiveAuctioneers. Turner Auctions + Appraisals also recently launched its own mobile site for viewing and bidding. LOT 58: ZUNI CUFF BRACELETS. Two Old Pawn Southwest inlay and silver Zuni cuff bracelets. The larger example is approximately 1-1/2 inches wide. Approximate size: 6-1/2 inches, including the additional 1" wrist gap. Approximate total weight: 159 g. Both with maker's marks. Estimate: $400-600.

LOT 2: NAVAJO SILVER KACHINA SCULPTURE. Navajo silver eagle dancer. Maker's mark: “RL.” Approximate size: 6-1/4 inches in height. Total weight: 194 g. Estimate: $700-900.

LOT 160: SOUTHWEST NATIVE AMERICAN JEWELRY ITEMS. Old Pawn Native American hair ornaments, consisting of a miscellaneous grouping of six silver items. Four marked sterling. Approximate size: 4 inches in length (largest example). Approximate total weight: 114 g. Estimate: $200-400.

LOT 77: ZUNI 14K GOLD WATCH CUFF. An Old Pawn Southwest Zuni Turquoise and 14K gold watch band. Note: Watch not working. Approximate size: 7 inches long. Estimate: $500-700.

LOT 178: SOUTHWEST NAVAJO JEWELRY SET. An 8-piece sterling silver and turquoise Old Pawn Navajo jewelry set by Vernon Begay. Consisting of a squash blossom necklace, pair of matching cuff bracelets, pair of matching rings, pair of matching earrings and a matching brooch. All stamped sterling and with the maker's mark, "VB." Necklace size: 19 inches approximate; pendant/naja size: 3-7/8 x 3-1/2 inches approximate (largest example). Total weight: 487 g approximate. Estimate: $2,0003,000.

LOT 91: ZUNI STERLING BELT BUCKLES. Two Old Pawn handmade inlay sterling silver Zuni belt buckles. Approximate size of larger example: 3 inches in width. Approximate total weight: 104 g. Marked sterling with maker's marks "F. L. Natachu" and "R & L Vacit." Estimate: $500-700.

LOT 66: SOUTHWEST NATIVE AMERICAN CUFF BRACELET. An Old Pawn Southwest coral silver Native American coin (1921) cuff bracelet, approximately 2-1/4 inches wide. Approximate size: 6-1/2 inches, including the additional 1" wrist gap. Approximate total weight: 99 g. With maker's mark, "W. Wauncka." Estimate: $200-400.

LOT 105: A NAVAJO CONCHO BELT. Southwest Old Pawn concho silver and turquoise belt. Approximate belt size: 52". Approximate concho/disk size: 3". Estimate: $2,000-3,000.

LOT 5: SOUTHWEST NATIVE AMERICAN CUFF BRACELET. A massive, Old Pawn Southwest turquoise and coral sterling silver Native American cuff bracelet. Approximately 5 -1/2 inches long. Approximate size: 5-1/2 inches, including the additional 1" wrist gap. Approximate total weight: 360 g. Marked sterling. Estimate: $500-700.
