NEWBURY.- Dreweatts & Bloomsbury Auctions two-day Spring Sale, on 19th & 20th April 2017, includes a fantastic selection of artworks and objects. Brightley House in Devon is an Arts and Crafts style lodge that sits centrally within 50 acres of idyllic grounds including fishing rights on a stretch of the River Torridge. The selected contents reflect the vendors passion for collecting that has spanned 40 years of sourcing from both auction houses and from antiques dealers alike.
Auction highlights include a Delphin Massier majolica jardiniere modelled as a grasshopper from early 20th century (Lot 319, est. £250-£350), Tracey Emins Love Is What You Want, signed 2005 lithograph, from the edition of 500 (Lot 119, est. £600-£800), and a 1964 Roy Lichtenstein lithograph, Hopeless (Lot 115, est. £800-£1,200).
Dreweatts' country house salerooms at Donnington Priory, a 17th century mansion set in picturesque Berkshire, are only an hour from central London. There is ample parking, beautiful gardens on the River Lambourn and a café serving delicious home cooked food on sale days and viewing days.
