First woman owned art fair debuts with big names
Pioneering artist Swoon will be exhibiting new works as part of her solo booth at Conception Art Fair.

MIAMI, FLA.- Conception Art Fair is the first contemporary art fair owned and produced exclusively by women. A dynamic presentation of contemporary art featuring over thirty pioneering artists, collectives and galleries with a strong focus on artwork for social or political change created by women and other minorities.

Among the exciting array of art on display is a bus that traveled the state of Iowa this summer as a mobile advertisement for Donald Trump's presidential campaign. The now an anti-Trump bus turned conceptual artwork, will be a prominent feature of the Conception Art Fair Sculpture Garden. Artist t.Rutt purchased the bus from its Iowa owners and has retrofitted it to create an art installation on wheels aimed to spark conversations on political rhetoric, misogyny and xenophobia.

Karen Gravano, daughter of incarcerated mobster, Sammy "The Bull" Gravano and current star of TV show "Mob Wives" will present an exhibit of her fathers charcoal drawings, an Art Basel exclusive, titled ‘Incarcerated.' Gravano was once one of the Mafia’s most feared hit men, the former Gambino family underboss, and John Gotti’s right-hand man. After confessing to nineteen murders, Gravano became the highest-ranking gangster to ever turn state’s evidence and testify against members of such a high profile crime family.

Pioneering artist Swoon will be exhibiting new works as part of her solo booth at Conception Art Fair. Swoon is best known for her large, intricately cut prints, wheat-pasted to industrial buildings around the world. A percentage of sales will benefit Swoon’s Heliotrope Foundation, a nonprofit created to help communities respond and heal after natural disasters and other social crisis.

Conception will host a series of events including a VIP preview, artists’ talks, and live art and music performances during the four-day event.
