Angela Susan Anton elected President of the Nassau County Museum of Art Museum Board
Angela Susan Anton, publisher of Anton Community Newspapers, has been elected president of Nassau County Museum of Art’s board of trustees.

ROSLYN HARBOR, NY.- The Board of Trustees of Nassau County Museum of Art announced that Angela Susan Anton, publisher of Anton Community Newspapers, has been elected board president at the board’s annual meeting on January 20. She has been a long-time member of the board and has also served as chairman of the annual Museum Ball.

The immediate past board president, Clarence F. Michalis, remains on the board, holding a new position as executive vice-president.

One of Long Island’s most dynamic and innovative business leaders, Anton is equally well regarded for her extensive contributions to the philanthropic community. Among the many local organizations that have benefitted from her participation are the American Liver Foundation of Greater New York, North Shore Child and Family Guidance Center, Theodore Roosevelt Council Boy Scouts of America, EAC Network, and Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. Additionally, she serves on the Nassau County Film Advisory Board and is a member of the WLIW Committee of board of trustees.

For Anton, giving back to the community is a natural extension of her work life as publisher of an acclaimed group of community newspapers with a weekly readership of some 150,000 readers. “I always felt there was a need for community newspapers to be involved with charities,” she said, explaining, “I think it’s a way of reaching out to the communities we serve.”

Anton, a life-long Long Islander, is the mother of three children. She resides in Merrick.

Nassau County Museum of Art is governed by a privately elected board of trustees, and is chartered and accredited by New York State as a not-for-profit, private educational institution. The museum’s programs and exhibitions are made possible through the support of Nassau County under County Executive Edward P. Mangano and the Nassau County Legislature, the museum’s board of trustees, memberships, corporate memberships, event and exhibition sponsors, admissions, special events, private and corporate donations, as well as government and foundation grants. The museum is located at One Museum Drive in Roslyn Harbor, just off Northern Boulevard, Route 25A, two traffic lights west of Glen Cove Road.
