Breese Little to present exclusive vintage NASA collection at Photo Shanghai

LONDON.- Breese Little will be presenting the exceptional collection of over 100 rare and vintage NASA photographs.

Among those bound for Shanghai number many iconic historical ‘firsts’, the presentation of which is timely given recent developments in space such as China’s historical Jade Rabbit landing on the Moon in December 2013 – the first successful landing since 1976.

Photo Shanghai features an interview with co-Director, Henry Little, on their website, outlining why we the gallery is excited about bringing the NASA collection to Shanghai and anticipate the photographs to attract much attention over the fair.

The collection was previously exhibited with the gallery in London (Jan/Feb 2014) to substantial critical acclaim. Press coverage included front page exposure with leading UK newspaper The Guardian, and internationally renowned global affairs and lifestyle magazine Monocle with features in Daily Mail Online, Photomonitor, Monocle, The Washington Post, The Huffington Post, CBS, BBC Mundo, Esquire, Buzz Feed UK, NBC News, History Revealed, ArtLyst, Juxtapoz, PORT, Shortlist, Metro, ELEPHANT, Le Cool, The Atlantic, Co.Design, Gizmodo and The Escapist.

The gallery will host a new exhibition of vintage NASA photographs, including rare large format prints, from mid-September to October 2014. Entitled Encountering the Astronomical Sublime: Vintage NASA Photography 1961 – 1980, the exhibition will showcase the natural beauty of vintage NASA photography. This will be followed by the gallery’s participation at London Art Fair, 21st - 25th January 2015, with a presentation examining the concept of ‘the picturesque’ in relation to vintage NASA photography and the work of mid-career Belgian photographer Jan Kempenaers.
