AUBURN, IN.- Auctions America announced two new private collections for its Auburn Spring weekend, May 8-10 at the historic Auburn Auction Park in Indiana. Reinforcing the company’s reputation as an auction house of choice for the sale of private and estate collections, the outstanding Rigoli Chrysler 300 Letter Car Collection along with the Duffy Grove Collection of 1950s and 1960s American Classics join the previously announced John Scotti Collection.

The Rigoli Collection features an exceptional group of seven Chrysler 300 Letter Cars, America’s first performance sedan. Professionally maintained and cared for by Richard C. Rigoli of Massachusetts for more than 25 years, the award-winning collection of both survivor and restored Letter Cars is led by a highly original 1955 Chrysler C-300 Hardtop Coupe and the most sought-after of all Letter Cars, a 1960 Chrysler 300F Convertible. Additional models poised for the auction block include a 1956 300B Hardtop Coupe, a 1957 300C Hardtop Coupe, a 1960 300F Hardtop Coupe, a 1961 300G Hardtop Coupe, and a 1962 300H Hardtop Coupe.

Also slated for the Auburn Spring sale is the Duffy Grove Collection, a selection of more than 15 cars offered from a prominent Midwest collector. Amassed over 15 years and comprised primarily of 1950s and 1960s General Motors examples, the collection is highlighted by a Daytona Blue 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Fuel-Injected Roadster sporting a fresh, body-off restoration, along with a fully restored and lavishly equipped 1957 Oldsmobile 98 Convertible painted in a striking two-tone combination of Banff Blue and Artesian Blue.

The John Scotti Collection, featuring approximately 450 cars offered entirely without reserve, spans the spectrum of the market, from Model T’s to 1950s American convertibles, 1960s – 1970s muscles cars and late model exotics. A frequently updated list of vehicles on offer can be viewed here.

“After kicking off 2014 on a strong note with our best performance to date in Fort Lauderdale, we’re eagerly working toward our largest Auburn Spring sale yet,” says Donnie Gould, president of Auctions America. “Our continued focus on quality and service has attracted a number of incredible collections and private consignments to the auction, which is set to offer some truly exceptional vehicles in the Classic Car Capital of America. Fast becoming a spring tradition on the American collector car calendar of events, we’re thrilled to welcome the AACA Special National Spring Meet once again, along with a car corral and swap meet to make for a must-attend hobby weekend”.

In total, Auctions America’s upcoming Auburn Spring sale is set to lift the gavel on some 900 quality collector cars along with a full day of memorabilia. In addition to the two private collections, other recently secured highlights include a 1962 Chevrolet Impala SS 409 Lightweight Sport Coupe that has remained largely untouched since it raced at the Indy Nationals in 1962. The Impala retains almost all of its original paint, its original Red interior, the original tires from the 1963 race season, along with the original 409/409 hp engine built by the legendary Bill Thomas and still backed by the Borg Warner four-speed transmission and 4.56 Positraction rear end. The rare 409, showing just 5,500 original miles, is one of only 18 factory-built 1962 Impalas with an aluminum front end and the only documented surviving example. Also crossing the block is a well-equipped and well-documented 1969 Shelby GT 500 Fastback, featuring an outstanding 2011 restoration by the respected Cobra Automotive. Presented in the rare color combination of Black Jade with a White interior, it is one of just 132 cars with this paint and trim code formula. True to the performance-oriented nature of any Shelby, the GT 500 features the renowned 428-cid, 335 hp V-8 Cobra Jet Ram Air engine with a Holley 750-cfm carburetor and 428 Cobra Jet Ram Air aluminum valve covers.

Rounding out what is always a wonderful weekend celebrating the collector car hobby, Auburn Spring will also feature a swap meet and car corral, as well as the much anticipated return of the AACA’s Special National Spring Meet, all on the grounds of the Auburn Auction Park.

Auctions America’s Auburn Spring Collector Car Weekend at the historic Auburn Auction Park will broadcast on NBC Sports Network from May 8 - 10. Delivered to more than 80 million homes, this in-depth coverage will track live gavel-to-gavel action as well as showcase the stories behind featured automobiles, providing a glimpse into the characters of the global collector car hobby.
