DOYLESTOWN, PA.- Lisa Tremper Hanover, Director & CEO, Michener Art Museum, announced the appointment of Laurie McGahey as Senior Director of Advancement and the promotion of Candace Clarke to Deputy Director and Advancement Officer. Kip Malloy will serve as the Executive Assistant to the Director's Office.

McGahey will be responsible for fundraising for the Michener's programs and operations. She will manage the Corporate Business Partners program, developing corporate and foundation relations, in addition to supporting the Michener in exhibition sponsorships, donor cultivation and stewardship, annual fund, and grants. "Her credentials are stellar and she will make an immediate impact on our ability to bring our development efforts in balance with our programmatic, staff and facility needs," says Tremper Hanover.

Most recently, McGahey has served in senior development roles at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA), and Orange County Museum of Art in Newport Beach, California. At The Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia she was successful in leading communications, public relations, and development, and served as assistant director. The Montgomery County native earned a bachelor's degree in art history at Temple University and a master's degree in arts administration at Drexel University. She has given talks and served as a guest speaker on donor development and grantwriting for the Getty Foundation, MOCA Los Angeles, and The Public School for TELIC Arts Exchange.

As Deputy Director and Advancement Officer, Candace Clarke will oversee the museum's annual fund, garner grant support, and cultivate underwriting for exhibitions. She will work closely with McGahey and other staff members in evolving the Michener's fundraising agenda. "Candace's administrative and managerial talents will serve this institution well and her success will benefit our program in important ways," says Tremper Hanover. "She has been a member of this staff in several capacities over the years which has given her the experience to take on this administrative role."

At the Michener, Clarke has served as Deputy Director of Advancement, Advancement Officer, Executive Assistant to the Director, Communications Manager and Education Coordinator. She first came to the museum as a volunteer tour guide. A Doylestown resident, Clarke studied art history at Brown University and earned an MBA at SUNY Buffalo. She also has a background as project manager and systems analyst in the healthcare insurance field.

Kip Malloy, retired from a career as an educator in high school science and as an adjunct professor in the Graduate School of Education at Chestnut Hill College, came to the Michener as a docent in 2003. Having previously served as a docent at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, she was soon awarded Docent of the Year at the Michener. Malloy was hired to work in the education department and went on to serve in the membership department, advancement and director's office. She has held duties in human resources, sponsor receptions and finance. "Kip will oversee a range of responsibilities related to this and the Deputy Director's office," says Tremper Hanover.
