Rare Never Before Printed John F. Kennedy Photographs Available Now in a Limited Edition
JFK Inauguration by Nelson Gilbert.
HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, NY.- American landscape, wildlife and candid portrait photographer, author & art collector: Russ Considine is making available in a very limited edition of #50, nineteen (19) never before printed black & white photographs of John F. Kennedy, Jacqueline Kennedy, Dwight Eisenhower, and Lyndon B. Johnson.

These photos were taken over fifty years ago by the late Nelson Gilbert who was a United States Korean War hero and prisoner of war who took thousands of aerial photographs across enemy lines of North Korea’s secret weapons arsenals and military positions. On one photographic mission, Captain Gilbert’s plane was shot down, he was shot, captured, escaped, and then was kept in hiding for months by a local Korean family. Mr. Gilbert’s work was shown in The Smithsonian Museum as well as many other museums. Gilbert’s famous scene of a soldier kneeling in front of a large cross in Korea with sun rays falling down on him was the cover of a Parade Magazine issue back in the 1950s, and it also hung in the Vatican. Russ Considine’s collection includes one of only two existing prints of that photo taken by Gilbert.

The 8”x10” scenes in Mr. Considine’s limited collection are printed from the original Gilbert negatives which are owned by Mr. Considine. The scenes depicted include three photos of President Eisenhower and President-elect John F. Kennedy in the White House Oval Office the day before being sworn in as the thirty-fifth President of the United States on January 19, 1961, and six photos from JFK’s Inauguration Day activities the following day on January 20, 1961. The remaining ten photographs were taken during Senator Kennedy’s Presidential campaign in 1960. All of these photographs can be viewed and purchased on Mr. Considine’s PhotoArt gallery: The Limited Edition is called: “Limited Edition JFK Jackie Ike & LBJ B&W”
