How to Draw a Fat Tire Bike?



Fat tire bikes are now a popular form of bikes among the bikers. It does not take many years to gain popularity. Having proper grip due to the fat tires, you can maneuver any terrain you like, including wet stone, slippery paths, snowy terrain, and the like. They have many benefits. You can comfortably get the best fat bike under 1000, which can be ideal for easy transportation.

Drawing a fat tire bike may be difficult for you for the first time. But you should not worry anymore because this article will lead you through the entire process of drawing a fat tire bike. Before digging deeper into the details, all you have to do is to arrange all necessary elements. The arrangement will not only save your time but also can speed up the whole process of drawing a fat tire bike.

Make sure you have the following arrangements:

=> A welding machine,
=> Steel donor bikes and electrical conduit,
=> Wheels (both for rear and back),
=> A BMI cart,
=> For the layout, big cardboard,
=> Being creative and having patience,
=> Primary knowledge of using power tools as well as bicycles,
=> Time.

You have arranged all the above-stated things near your hand so far. Now, you are almost ready to jump to the action. Also, you should use hand gloves while using power tools so you can keep safe.

Step One: Design the layout of the bike
You need to be creative and experiment a few times. This step requires time to make the layout perfect and complete. Lay cardboard and the pieces of the bike are on the cardboard. If you have an old bike that is not being used, you can cut their parts and place them on top of the cardboard.

Among the pieces of the bike, figure out which frame you are going to use. From conduit or any other steel covering you will use, separate them for the fabrication.
For this purpose, I used the pieces of my BMX bike to make the horizontal lower tube that was galvanized with an electrical conduit. Cutting the tube of the seat, I inserted it into a hole in the conduit and welded them together. I had to spend a lot of time because it was critical to measure them accurately to clear the rear swingarm appropriately.

Step Two: Wheels are the most crucial part of assembling
For my design, I used Yamaha wheels that have four holes. These holes of the wheels helped me to match with the go-kart easily. All I had to work on drilling them matching with the holes of the go-kart. This was an exact match of the non-quite 4on4 design of the rims.

Step Three: Front and Rear Swingarm
The construction or design did not take a lot of time there. I had to stumble upon a bunch of car-mount bike parts to match with the front and rear swingarm. However, I found the u-pattern armature perfect for the rear swingarm.

For the front fork, I found the narrow one to fix with it correctly. Also, I did not use the chain drive or brake there while setting the front fork. There are other options you can adapt to. If you are not able to do these assembling, you can get help from others.

Step Four: Axle, Hub and Read Swingarm
An axle plays a vital role in completing the design. To do so, you have to use a rear wheel. It needs a spindle that is connected to the hub and will turn the wheel.
The axle is usually a one-inch solid steel rod that gives needed support to the entire design.

Step Five: Making the front fork
It did not take colossal time, though. I just cut legs from my old bikes and welded them together to make the front fork. Before welding, I grinded them with the grinder machine so that it kept smooth to handle.

I needed two more flat plates for slotting the new fork arms to fix the plates. These plates need to be predrilled. If they are not predrilled, you have to spend some extra time drilling right away.

Step Six: Front Wheel Hub
When you do all the attachment with rear and front fork with the wheels, it will look more real. And you may think that you are done. But you have to go through a few more steps to make the design finish.

Step Seven: It’s time for the jack shaft to locate
In this step, you have kept one thing in your mind that your jack shaft needs to locate up in the higher. All I did is to lay it on the cardboard, depending on the heel arc. The sizes of the freewheels should be seven-speed with the thirty-four tooth mega-range.

Step Eight: Assemble the basic frame
As you see, all parts of your bicycle are almost ready to assemble. When you complete all the assembling, it should look like a complete frame of the bike just without the wheels.

Step Nine: Construction of the Jack Shaft
You can use a steel rear bicycle hub and freewheel to fix it with the main body of the bike.

For my experiment, I cut it from my old one and fix it to the main structure.

Step Ten: Disc Brake
For better braking, you can use a disc brake. It is fun and convenient. All you have to do is to purchase one and drill it to attach with the chainring. Apply the same process for another part, and your bike is all set to transport you from place to place.

You do not need to be an expert in designing a fat tire bike. All you have to do is to follow the mentioned steps to design the whole bike. You need to be creative and also have to have a lot of time to accomplish the task.
