Jonathan Meese’s (b. 1970) multidisciplinary practice encompasses painting, drawing, sculpture, performance, writing, stage design, and directing within the fields of theater and opera. Using a lexicon of personal hieroglyphs mixed with historical, political and cultural references, Meese explores such themes as revolution, the failures of ideology, and the role and power of art. His work has been the subject of numerous solo museum exhibitions including Revolution at Kestnergesellschaft, Hanover (2002), Képi blanc, nackt at Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt (2004), Mama Johnny at Deichtorhallen Hamburg (2006), Jonathan Meese: Sculpture at the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami (2010), MALERMEESE - MEESERMALER at Museum der Moderne Salzburg (2013), and Parsifal's Traum: Chefsache 'K.U.N.S.T.' at the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna (2017). In November 2018, Meese’s Odyssey opened at the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich. His works can be found in numerous private and public collections around the world. Meese currently lives and works in Berlin and Ahrensburg.

Albert Oehlen (b. 1954) is known for creating work that tests the boundaries of figuration and abstraction, challenging expectations of conventional abstract art in works he deems as "post-non-figurative." Focusing on the process of painting, Oehlen's work is marked by self-imposed constraints, such as using only certain colors, working at a set pace, integrating certain elements of collage, employing computer-generated lines, or working collaboratively with other scholars, writers, musicians, and artists (such as Jonathan Meese). Oehlen graduated from the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg in 1981. His work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions worldwide. Recent solo shows have been held at Salzburger Kunstverein, Musée cantonal des Beaux-Arts, Lausanne, and Vienna Secession (2004); FRAC Auvergne, Clermont-Ferrand (2005); Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami, Florida (2005); Whitechapel Gallery, London (2006); Museo di Capodimonte, Naples (2009); Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris (2009); Emil Schumacher Museum, Hagen (2010); Sammlung Grässlin, St. Georgen (2010); Carré Musée d’art contemporain de Nîmes (2011); Kunstmuseum Bonn (2012); Museum Moderner Kunst, Vienna (2013); Museum Wiesenbaden (2014); New Museum, New York (2015); Kunsthalle Zürich (2015); Guggenheim Museum Bilbao (2017); and Cleveland Museum of Art (2016–17). His works can be found in many important museum collections in Europe and North America. Oehlen currently lives and works in Switzerland.

Daniel Richter (b. 1962) is known for expressive, large-scale paintings that incorporate historical, political and contemporary references to the mass media. A blend of abstraction and figuration, his intensely colorful paintings are pictorial scenes of unstable realities. Richter studied at the Hamburg Academy of Fine Arts during the 1990s, after which he spent a period as Albert Oehlen’s studio assistant. His paintings have been exhibited extensively in Europe and North America, and can be found in numerous private and public collections around the world. Solo exhibitions of his work have been held at the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa (2005), Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Basel (2006), Kunsthalle, Hamburg, Gemeentemuseum, The Hague (both 2007), Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Málaga, Denver Art Museum, Colorado (both 2008), Essl Museum of Contemporary Art, Klosterneuberg (2009), Museum der Moderne: Rupertinum, Salzburg (2010), and kestnergesellschaft, Hanover (2011). Most recently, monographic shows devoted to his work have been held at the Galerie im Taxispalais, Innsbruck (2014), Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt (2015), Louisiana Museum in Humlebaek (2016), the 21er Haus Museum of Contemporary Art in Vienna, and the Camden Arts Centre in London (both 2017). Richter currently lives and works in Berlin, Hamburg and Vienna. --
