AMSTERDAM.- The Van Gogh Museum and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science have reached an agreement that will make it possible to finance the much-needed renovation of the museum building. The uncertainty over the museum’s future has now been resolved. After more than fifty years of intensive use, the Van Gogh Museum building is no longer future proof and requires renovation. If not addressed, the building’s condition would eventually be insufficient to guarantee security, climate control and sustainability. The Van Gogh Museum and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science have now successfully completed a mediation process. This has resulted in a settlement agreement regarding funding for the renovation, which secures the future of the museum and the collection. PARIS.- A wide-ranging collection assembled over fifteen years in a Provençal farmhouse will come to auction at Drouot on October 27, when Artello offers more than 300 lots spanning ceramics, design, jewelry, furniture and modern and contemporary art.
