The Newbie's Guide to Buying Disposable Vapes

If you’re a smoker who hasn’t made the switch to vaping yet, there’s a good chance that you’ve been waiting for a vaping solution that offers the ideal mix of convenience, enjoyment and satisfaction. With modern products like Hyde disposable vapes, you can finally have everything you want in a single device. Devices like the disposable e-cigarettes from Hyde deliver more nicotine per puff and last much longer than the disposable vapes of the past. They’re also available in a much wider variety of flavors, virtually guaranteeing that you could use disposable vapes exclusively for your entire time as a vaper without ever getting bored.

Before you can start your journey with disposable vapes, though, you’ve got to decide which device you’re going to buy first – and we’re going to walk you through that process in this article. This is your newbie’s guide to buying disposable vapes, and it’s going to answer all of the questions you’re likely to have as you shop for your first vaping device.

Why Should I Buy a Disposable Vape?
Disposable vapes are the best vaping devices for beginners, and we suggest buying one as your first vaping device even if your ultimate plan is to eventually step up to a refillable device. Disposable vapes are perfect for beginning vapers because there’s nothing to set up and nothing to configure. The device is ready to use immediately out of the package, and there’s nothing for you to do aside from giving yourself some time to adjust to a different form of nicotine. A disposable vape is ready to use whenever you need it; just puff and enjoy.

How Many Puffs Should a Disposable Vape Have?
To give you an idea of how long you can expect the device to last, a disposable vape will almost always have a number on the package indicating the approximate number of puffs you’ll get before you need to replace the device. Remember that the number is only an approximation, and you’ll seldom get exactly the advertised number of puffs out of a given disposable vape. You can use the number as a rough guideline, though, for how a disposable vape compares to tobacco cigarettes. On average, you’ll typically get around 200-300 puffs out of a pack of cigarettes. Therefore, if you’re a pack-a-day smoker, you can expect a disposable vape with 200-300 puffs to last about one full day before it runs out of e-liquid or battery power. A disposable vape offering somewhere in the range of 800-900 puffs, on the other hand, may last anywhere from 2-4 days.

You can also find disposable vapes that offer thousands of puffs. A device that offers a very large number of puffs has a high e-liquid capacity and will usually have a rechargeable battery to ensure that you can use every drop of vape juice. The benefit of buying a high-capacity disposable vape is that the device will last longer before you need to replace it. That adds to the convenience factor, and it also means that you’ll spend less on vaping in the long run. Smaller disposable vapes, on the other hand, are more discreet and easier to fit into your pocket.

What Nicotine Strength Should I Buy?
Disposable vapes are usually available in two different nicotine strengths, with the most common strengths being 25 mg/ml (2.5%) and 50 mg/ml (5%) in the United States. Some regions have restrictions in place that limit the nicotine strengths of e-liquids, and the available nicotine strengths for disposable vapes are lower in those regions.

With a nicotine strength of 50 mg/ml, you can expect a disposable vape to deliver nicotine about as efficiently as a tobacco cigarette on a puff-for-puff basis. For that reason, it’s usually best to start with that strength if you’re a typical pack-a-day smoker and are trying to quit. You should drop to the lower strength if you find the higher strength overwhelming or are a very infrequent smoker.

What Flavor Should I Buy?
It’s very common to find disposable vapes that use tobacco, menthol and mint flavors to mimic the flavors of conventional cigarettes. If you’re looking for a disposable vape that comes as close as possible to replacing the experience of smoking, you should definitely try one of those flavors. You’ll probably find, though, though, that your favorite flavor will be something that doesn’t taste anything like a cigarette at all.

Surveys have consistently shown that people who vape – and have quit smoking successfully by switching to vaping – overwhelmingly prefer flavors that don’t taste anything like conventional cigarettes. In particular, fruit flavors are extremely popular. That probably has much to do with the virtually endless variety in that category. You can find a disposable vape capturing the flavor of just about any fruit you can name. Blends of multiple fruits are also extremely common. You can also find disposable vapes that taste like desserts, candies, baked goods and more.

Much of the fun of using disposable vapes is that you never have to commit to a single flavor for long. Disposable vapes make it easy to experiment with different flavors, and experimentation is a big part of what makes vaping so enjoyable.

How Do I Use a Disposable Vape?
A disposable vape comes from the factory ready to use, and all that you need to do is puff on the device to vape. You should try to use a disposable vape about as often as you would smoke a cigarette, taking a few puffs at a time when you feel cravings for nicotine. If you vape in that way, you’ll avoid overconsumption of nicotine while maximizing the life of your disposable vapes.

When a disposable vape has a dead battery, the indicator light will blink when you try to vape. At that point, it’s time to replace the device unless it has a rechargeable battery. In most cases, a disposable vape will run out of e-liquid and battery power at about the same time. If you have a larger disposable vape with a rechargeable battery, you can recharge the device by connecting it to your computer via a USB cable.
