CHICAGO.- CHICAGO – On April 13, Hindman Auctions will present Important Timepieces from a Private Collector featuring a remarkable timepiece collection from Mr. Del Pelton. An enthusiast of unique timepieces, Mr. Pelton built a collection that spans almost four centuries of watchmaking expertise from makers such as Patek Philippe, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Vacheron Constantin, F.P. Journe, and Parmigiani Fleurier, among many other respected watchmakers from Switzerland, Germany, France, and England. The auction will also present an extensive pocket watch selection that boasts many advanced complications such as the Haas moon phase perpetual calendar chronograph.

“We are pleased to be offering such a distinctive and extensive private collection that includes so many iconic timepieces,” said Hindman’s Director and Senior Specialist for Jewelry and Timepieces, Sally Klarr. “From historic to contemporary, we anticipate that every bidder will find something that speaks to each of them.”

This collection embodies a lifetime of passionate collecting and showcases the breadth and quality of a true watch aficionado. The auction includes stunning antique and modern timepieces such as a Patek Philippe Ref. 5036/1J-001 wristwatch (lot 38; estimate: $20,000-30,000) and a Ulysse Nardin 'Sonata Cathedral' wristwatch (lot 41; estimate: $18,000-$28,000). A Vacheron Constantin 'Toledo' wristwatch (lot 43; estimate: $18,000-28,000) is another outstanding lot that features a matte silvered dial with central fausses cotes decoration, and applied white gold pyramid and Arabic numerals. A limited-edition Franck Muller Ref. 7000 QP E wristwatch (lot 34; estimate: $12,000-18,000) is another standout piece.

Additional Highlights:

Exceptional lots also include a B. Haas perpetual calendar hunter case pocket watch (lot 82; estimate: $18,000-22,000); a limited-edition Jaeger-LeCoultre 'Reverso Septantième' wristwatch (lot 32; estimate: $15,000 - $25,000); and a F.P. Journe 'Èlègante' wristwatch (lot 27; estimate: $8,000-12,000). A Jaeger-LeCoultre 'Master Control' wristwatch (lot 30; estimate: $4,000-6,000) and a Parmigiani Fleurier 'Toric' wristwatch (lot 40; estimate: $5,500-$7,500) are also notable lots.

Bidding for the April 13 auction will begin at 10am CT and will be available via absentee bid, by phone, and online through the Digital Bid Room, Hindman’s recently launched online and mobile bidding platform.
