Where to Search for Rental Cars

Travel has changed since Covid-19 hit the world last year. One of the most impacted forms of travel has been flying. With many airlines reducing their routes, tickets becoming more expensive and health risks being of grave concern to many, flying as a means to get to your intended destination is no longer the most appealing option.

Rather, rental cars are a great alternative for many people needing—or wanting—to travel. It allows people the freedom to get to new destinations without having to share an enclosed space with lots of strangers. Plus renting a car is a fun way to test out new vehicles and offers a fun splurge on cars you may not actually own yourself.

But where do you search for rental cars these days? And how do you know what the reliable ones are?

We’ve compiled our top regular car renting tips regarding where to search for rental cars and what to look for when hiring one out! You’ll be cruising along the highway in no time, loving life in a sweet ride!

1. Online search engines offer great comparisons

A great way to get a range of price points and compare all your options at once is through online search engines. You can see a comparison of the different types of cars you can rent from a range of companies in the area you are wanting to rent from. These sites will often give you an estimate of per day cost and give a little checklist of all the things that are included in that price. Make sure to keep an eye out for the details to see if there will be any hidden costs that will make the renal go up in price!

2. Airport websites

If you are first traveling by plane before hitting the road, another great place to look for rental cars is on airport websites. They often list a range of companies that run rental services from their property and make it easy for you to walk from the plane to the car. The convenience of location is one of the most appealing parts of renting from an airport rental kiosk and they tend to also be ones who offer more budget-friendly one-way hire arrangements as well. If you are looking for a great all-around rental package with discounted prices and an extensive range of cars to choose from, selecting a rental car from a company at an airport is a good way to go!

3. Car-sharing apps

Similar to renting homes on an app, you can also rent cars on an app as well! There is a range of car-sharing apps that you can easily download to your phone. These apps will give you a selection of cars other individuals are offering to rent, the price, and how far away the car is located. Some of the high-tech apps have even made it so that the app will open the rented car—that way there is minimal fluffing around with keys! The only downside to this method of searching is that it is not yet available worldwide. So searching for rental cars via apps and car-sharing companies is limited in availability and completely dependent on your current location.

Searching for rental cars is easy and something that is accessible to everyone. From online searches, airport website searches, and car-sharing app searches, there is the right rental car service out there for you! All three are sure to provide you with a range of options that will suit your budget needs and selection of cars to choose from. Where will you be searching for your next rental car?
