MONTEREY, CA.- The Monterey Museum of Art has engaged Arts Consulting Group (ACG) to provide executive transition leadership services and is pleased to announce that ACG consultant Corey Madden became Interim Executive Director effective August 10, 2020. Madden comes to MMA from the Kenan Institute for the Arts at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem where she has served as Executive Director since 2013. During her tenure at MMA, Madden will continue build its virtual platform for education and collective experiences and strategize future facilities and program growth in a post-COVID-19 world.

Madden is an innovative non-profit leader with 25 years of proven success in the arts, education, and philanthropy. She is highly experienced in fund raising, program planning, finance, operations, marketing, and non-profit governance. Prior to her tenure at the Kenan Institute for the Arts, Madden cultivated and founded more than 30 partnerships with major arts and civic organizations including The Getty Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, Pacific Asia Museum, and more. She has served on the strategic planning committee for the North Carolina Museum of Art, as a theatre consultant in architectural planning for the Villa renovation at the Getty Museum, and has served on numerous local, regional, and national grant review panels.
Madden has a master in professional writing from the University of Southern California, a bachelor of arts in drama with honors from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, and a bachelor of fine arts in acting from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
