Arnolfini announces new Director of Programme
Rob is currently Head of Programmes and Production at Artangel.

BRISTOL.- Arnolfini announced the appointment of Rob Bowman as Director of Programme. Rob is currently Head of Programmes and Production at Artangel, and takes up this new role at Arnolfini on 16 November 2015.

Bowman joins Arnolfini at a particularly exciting time, following on from the recent success of the Richard Long: TIME AND SPACE exhibition, which has already had over 40,000 visitors. Rob will work closely with Kate Brindley, Arnolfini CEO, to develop Arnolfini’s future programme.

Since joining Artangel in 2007 Rob has led the production of several of the organisation’s most ambitious projects including Catherine Yass’ High Wire, Roger Hiorns’ Seizure and Ryoji Ikeda’s Spectra. During the course of his career he has worked with artists including Cerith Wyn Evans, Susan Philipsz, Ryan Gander and Jose Damasceno to create projects and exhibitions in many different forms and disciplines. Having begun his career at the then Museum of Modern Art, Oxford, Rob subsequently became Curator at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London where he also ran the Beck’s Futures exhibition and awards.

Commenting on the appointment, Kate Brindley said: “I am delighted that Rob will be joining the team at Arnolfini as Director of Programme. Rob brings great dynamism and experience to the role from his time working with a world-class commissioning organisation in Artangel.”

Rob Bowman said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at Arnolfini as Director of Programme at what is a particularly exciting time for the organisation. Arnolfini has a great reputation for working with outstanding and inventive artists in many forms, and I am really looking forward to the chance to build on that through the development of an ambitious future programme.”
