LONDON.- Bonhams announced this week that from November 1st Lucinda Bredin will lead the companys international communications.
Lucinda is currently the Arts Editor of The Week and Editor of Bonhams Magazine, which she has edited since 2004. She is a regular contributor to the national press in Britain, including the FT and Economist. In the past, she has also written for The Sunday Telegraph, The Art Newspaper, The Independent, The Observer and The Guardian and a wide range of publications such as Vogue, Evening Standard, Daily Mail, Daily Telegraph, English Heritage Magazine, Coutts magazine, Harpers and Tatler.
Lucinda also edits The Weeks Independent Schools Supplement. Besides her writing commitments she has also headed the marketing and editorial strategy for Grange Park Opera.
Lucinda studied at the University of Edinburgh and has a postgraduate MA from the Courtauld Institute of Art. She is married to writer Bruce Palling and they have two sons aged 22 and 20.
Lucindas career began as an Exhibitions Curator, Milton Keynes Exhibition Gallery, (1985-1987), during which she was also Art Critic for Eddy Shahs Sunday Today. She then joined the Evening Standard (1988-1991) and became Editor of London Life and then Deputy Editor, ES Magazine. Other positions held include Senior Editor, Tatler; Deputy and Features Editor, Harpers & Queen; Arts and Heritage Features Writer, Sunday Telegraph; and Editorial Director of Grandtrunk.com, a travel website.
For the Bonhams magazine she has secured contributions from Sir Harold Evans, Max Hastings, John Julius Norwich, Eddie Izzard, Alexander McCall Smith, Jeremy Paxman, Colin Firth, Hugo Vickers, Howard Jacobson, Ian McKellen and Dan Snow. She has also interviewed art world figures such as Nicholas Serota, Thomas P Campbell of the Metropolitan Museum, Charles Saumarez Smith, and the Hermitages Mikhail Piotrovsky on the state of the art world as well as collectors such as Wang Wei, Hilary Weston, Anita Zabludowicz and Louise MacBain.
