CINCINNATI, OH.- The Cincinnati Art Museum announced today a gift from the Louise Dieterle Nippert Trust to endow its directors position, a post that will soon be filled by Cameron Kitchin, the ninth director in the institutions 128-year history. Valued at more than $6 million, the endowment is one of the largest gifts ever given to the Art Museum.
Louise Dieterle Nippert has played a tremendous role in ensuring Greater Cincinnati remains a cultural arts destination, and her generosity and dedication to local arts institutions are immeasurable, shared Marty Ragland, President of the Cincinnati Art Museum Board. Were so thankful that her legacy affords the Cincinnati Art Museum the ability to remain focused on our mission to bring people and art together in ways that transform our everyday lives and our community.
Trust manager and spokesperson Carter Randolph noted that Mrs. Nipperts love and interest in the arts and her long-standing, generous philanthropic efforts very much align with the mission of the Cincinnati Art Museum, one of the oldest art museums in the United States.
Louise Dieterle Nippert loved her hometown, and she made it her mission to preserve its arts landscape, Randolph said. Endowing the directors position at the Cincinnati Art Museum supports an important Cincinnati landmark while making sure the community she loved continues to enjoy one of the most comprehensive art collections in the Midwest.
On Oct. 1, Kitchin, an accomplished museum leader who has vowed to put the museum in the pathways of peoples lives in Cincinnati, will assume the new role of Louis and Louise Nippert Director of the Cincinnati Art Museum as endowed by the Louise Dieterle Nippert Trust, the first endowed position in the institutions history.
