EVANSTON, IL.- Legendary musician, poet, artist, and activist Patti Smith will attend a Block Cinema screening of the new documentary Patti Smith: Dream of Life at 8 pm on Friday, January 30. Smith and the film's director, photographer Steven Sebring, will participate in a post-film conversation with Jim DeRogatis, pop music critic for the Chicago Sun-Times and co-host of Sound Opinions.

Tickets are $8 for Northwestern University students, faculty, and staff; $11 for the general public. Tickets go on sale at 10:30 am on Friday, January 23 at the Norris Box Office on the first floor of the Norris University Center, 1999 Campus Drive, Evanston, and online at www.nbo.northwestern.edu. Limit 2 tickets per person. Registration at www.nbo.northwestern.edu is required before buying tickets online.

Tickets purchased online may be picked up at the Block Museum beginning at 7 pm the night of the event. Seating is general admission and will begin at 7:30 pm.

A special pre-sale for Block Museum members will be held on Thursday, January 22 from 10:30 am to 6 pm at the Norris Box Office. Please present your Block Museum membership card when purchasing tickets.
