GWANGJU.- The National Asian Culture Center (ACC), under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, is pleased to announce the international open call for the ACC CREATORS 2025 Residency—a prestigious interdisciplinary program supporting visionary projects that merge art, science, and technology. Applications are now being accepted through April 30, 2025.

Marking its 10th anniversary, the ACC CREATORS Residency has become one of Asia’s leading platforms for experimental cultural production. Open to artists, researchers, technologists, and creators worldwide, the program provides a collaborative environment for developing ambitious works that engage with urgent questions of our time.

The 2025 residency theme, “The Intelligence Age,” invites participants to explore the societal, artistic, and technological implications of artificial intelligence and the rapidly evolving data landscape. Selected creators will investigate new forms of intelligence and envision how humans may coexist with emergent entities in hybrid digital-physical environments.

Residency categories and support

The 2025 residency will support eight individual or team-based projects across five categories:

–Art & Technology (4 teams)
–Kinetic Media (1 team)
–Audiovisual (1 team)
–Mixed Reality (1 team)
–Immersive Sound (1 team)

Each project will receive between KRW 20,000,000 and 30,000,000 in production funding, along with access to dedicated studio space, technical facilities, and expert consultation.

Advanced infrastructure

Participants will work within ACC’s ACT(Arts & Creative Technology) Studio, including:

–Complex studio equipped for kinetic media projects
–A media production studio with four-sided rear screens, a full motion capture system, and a 64-channel immersive sound environment

These facilities support experimentation across spatial, sonic, and digital media.

Project showcase

Completed projects will be presented to the public in a culminating exhibition running for two weeks beginning November 25, 2025, coinciding with the ACC’s 10th anniversary. The showcase will feature installations, performances, presentations, and workshops, offering the public an opportunity to engage with the latest developments in art and technology.

How to apply

Interested applicants can submit proposals via the official ACC website at www.acc.go.kr. After creating a user account, applicants must complete the online form and upload all required materials by the deadline.

Selection process

Submissions will be evaluated in a two-stage review process, including a document screening and interview. Final selections will be announced in June 2025, and the residency will run from August through November.
