LONDON.- Nine projects, including a net-zero carbon nursery, the transformation of a disused fire station into homes and a new pavilion for a Grade I listed National Trust property, have been shortlisted for RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) West Midlands Awards 2025.
 The shortlisted projects are:

Coventry University, College of Arts and Society by BDP
Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Medical Teaching Building by Glancy Nicholls Architects
  Hanbury Hall by Howells
  Invisible House by BPN Architects
  Manresa House by OMI Architects
Old Fire Station by KKE Architects Ltd
  One Centenary Way by Howells
University of Staffordshire Woodlands Nursery by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios
Williamson House by John Pardey Architects

RIBA West Midlands Jury Chair Tim Collett, Associate Professor in Architecture, University of Nottingham, said: "This year's shortlist includes nine exciting buildings that offer a wonderful range of typologies and scales from large academic and commercial buildings to homes, a nursery and a pavilion. It is heart-warming to see so much transformation and imaginative reuse, and sustainability targets surpassed.

As we begin our jury visits, we will be looking for projects that exceed clients expectations, enhance peoples lives, and demonstrate care and attention to detail in all aspects from operation to composition to construction.

All projects shortlisted for RIBA Awards will be visited by a regional jury, and the winning projects will be announced later this spring.

The winners will then be considered for several RIBA Special Awards, including the RIBA Sustainability Award and RIBA Building of the Year, before being considered for a highly coveted RIBA National Award, which will be announced in summer.

The shortlist for the RIBA Stirling Prize the UKs best new building will be drawn from the RIBA National Award-winning projects and announced in September. The Stirling Prize winner will be announced in October.
