ALAMEDA, CA.- Michaan’s Auctions February Gallery Auction on Friday, February 16th features fine diamonds in excellent condition in addition to notable examples from the Fine Art and Asian Art departments. The auction is led by the jewelry department, which will be offering an unmounted pear-cut 2.45 carats colorless diamond and an unmounted pear- cut 2.96 carats colorless diamond. Also included in the sale is a lithograph by Grant Wood, an Arnaldo Pomodoro hanging sculpture, and a jade insert table screen.

The Jewelry Department is featuring an Unmounted Pear-Cut 2.45 cts. Colorless Diamond ($10/15,000), and an Unmounted Pear-Cut 2.96 cts. Colorless Diamond ($10/15,000) in this month’s sale. Also on offer, is a Patek Philippe & Co. 18k Yellow Gold Pocket Watch ($2/3,000), a classic and refined edition from the Swiss luxury brand. Also available is a Jade, 18k White Gold Pendant ($1,5/2,500), and a Girard- Perregaux Ferarri F2002 Champion ($1,5/2,500).

Our Furniture and Decorative Department is highlighting an Antique Dickman Clown Cast Iron Shooting Target ($5/8,000) and a Tiffany & Co. Sterling Silver Horse Racing Trophy ($2/3,000). Also, on offer this February is a Mid Century Biomorphic Fruitwood Coffee Table ($8/1,200), a Syrian Inlaid Cabinet ($2/3,000), and Four Stewart MacDougall Attr Klismos Chairs ($1/1,500). Finally, a Collection of Pipes in Shadowbox ($1,5/2,500) will be sold, an elegant set of Native American smoking accessories.

The Fine Art Department is excited to announce the sale of Grant Wood, February, 1940, lithograph ($10/12,000), an important work from the famed painter of “American Gothic.” Arnaldo Pomodoro Metal Hanging Sculpture and a Book ($8/10,000) is a beautiful example from the famed Italian artist and will be offered alongside other excellent works such as Peter Lely, France Duchess of Lennox and Richmond, oil ($6/8,000), and Euphemia Charlton Fortune, Harbor, 1929, oil ($5/8,000). Finally, the department will be offering Richard Llewelyn Wathen, Luther, 2003, oil. ($4/6,000), an important work from the contemporary British artist.

The Asian Art Department will be offering A Large Carved Spinach Jade Plaque Insert Table Screen ($4/6,000), as well as Two Sino-Tibetan Gilt Bronze Statues of Lamas ($2/3,000). The department is also excited to offer a Pair of Chinese Cloisonne Censers with Covers ($2/3,000) in excellent condition, as well as A Sino-Tibetan Bronze Seated Buddha ($1,5/2,500) and A Bronze Censer and Cover 'Fang Ding' ($1,2/1,800).
