BROOKLYN, NY.- Powerhouse Arts has announced the appointment of Megan Skidmore to the role of Development Director.
Powerhouse is a not-for-profit organization committed to creative expression. Located in a purpose-built facility in Gowanus, the organization hosts an extended network of art and fabrication professionals and educators who work together to co-create and share artistic practices vital to the wellbeing of artists and the communities to which they belong.
In her role at Powerhouse, Skidmore will collaborate with organization President, Eric Shiner, in developing fundraising strategies and cultivating a community of values-aligned stewards and benefactors who enthusiastically support art fabrication, are invested in community engagement and partnerships, and commit to furthering the organizations mission.
In speaking of the opportunity to work with Powerhouse, Skidmore states: Art and artists have always been the "why" in my life. Powerhouse is unique in its ability to provide essential, state of the art facilities and resources for artists. The organization will soon take on a more public role, offering access to the many creative practices being nurtured here. Building support and purpose in exciting and inclusive ways has always been at the core of my role as a fundraiser, and I am looking forward to introducing Powerhouse's incredible facility and capabilities to passionate stewards of artists and art making.
