DALLAS.- On March 17, Heritage Auctions will present The Lawrence Collection of Fine & Rare Wine, a remarkable single-owner collection featuring every esteemed growing region in the world – and only the best names within those regions.

The cellar, amassed over decades by a passionate collector, includes elite wines from around the world. Among the 437 lots, which are valued at more than $1.6 million and represent only a fraction of the consignor’s collection, are highlights including: 1947 Cheval Blanc, 1996 Romanee Conti, 2002 Coche-Dury Corton Charlemagne, 1985 Guigal La Turque, 1959 Salon, 2011 Egon Muller Scharzhofberger Auslese, 1985 Sassicaia, 1968 Vega Sicilia Unico, 2001 Screaming Eagle, 2010 Henschke Hill of Grace, 1994 Taylor Fladgate and Errazuriz Vinedo Chadwick from vintages such as 2000, 2006 and 2008.

“Simply put, this is one of the most complete and extraordinary collections I have had the privilege to catalog,” says Frank Martell, Senior Director of Fine & Rare Wine at Heritage. “Collections like this do not happen by accident. They are a deliberate creation, requiring expert knowledge and attention. We also have detailed provenance information for the vast majority of wines in this sale, further highlighting our consignor’s meticulous approach to building something incredible.”

In addition to focusing on prestige, pedigree and quality when building his cellar, the consignor was obsessive about storing his investment safely. The collection was housed in two professional facilities, both of which feature redundant temperature and humidity controls and backup generators for a flawless and unwavering environment.
“You can see years of collecting and tasting experience in this cellar,” Martell says. “And you will find nothing less than the very best wines from the very best growing regions, without compromise. But perhaps the most impressive thing is that this is just a portion of our consignor’s collection. This is his first consignment with us, with lots more where this came from.”
