Everything You Need To Know About Tipping The Movers

If you are hiring a moving company to assist you with the move, it’s obvious that you will have a lot of questions in mind, such as the right charges and their reputation. On the other hand, if you are wondering how much tip you should give to your movers, this article has a comprehensive guide to help you out!

Is It Important To Tip The Movers?
Before we answer how much to tip movers California, it’s important to add that you must tip the movers. While it’s not mandatory or required by law to tip the movers, it’s still a suggested practice. This is because packing is a tedious job, and it takes a lot of hard work. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that a high-quality moving company will save you a lot of stress and time during the entire shifting process. For this reason, it is important to tip the movers.

On the other hand, if movers have caused some damage and breakage or they are not punctual, you can decide not to tip them. In addition, you can take away the tip if they weren’t on good behavior or left any items behind that were supposed to be packed and moved away.

How Much Tip Is Suggested For Movers?
When it comes down to the total tip, you need to consider the total moving charges. However, it is better to tip anything from 5% to 20% of the total cost. There are some people who tip according to the working hours, total bill’s percentage, maximum amount, and the minimum amount you can pay. On top of everything, you need to consider your circumstances. For instance, if you have movers over for a few years, you can opt for 10% of the total moving costs.

When it comes down to the range of tips, there is a significant difference between 5% and 22% and many people aren’t financially capable of offering big tips. However, if you are satisfied with the movers’ services and you want to give them a reward, there are various factors that you can try to decide the suitable tip for movers, such as;

• In case you have narrow and long stair flights and the stuff was heavy, it’s needless to say that your movers had to work extremely hard, and they need to be paid extra as a reward

• In case you got your movers a nice lunch during the day, they won’t be expecting a tip and you don’t need to tip them either

• If you are shifting to a new city and have two movers for shifting out and putting in the stuff, you have to pay both of them separately

• You don’t need to pay the tip to the movers if they didn’t do a proper job and left behind some stuff or broke something

• If the movers are courteous and accommodating – if they stayed behind to help you pack, it is obvious that you have to pay a larger tip to show your appreciation. In addition, it will work as a great motivation for them to keep providing such high-end services

So, how much tip will you give?
