Other areas will include a rare Louis Vuitton Trunk Circa 1890-1900, Vintage Louis Vuitton trunk, direct from the Vanderbilt-Whitney family. It belonged to prominent sportsman Harry Payne Whitney and his wife, Gertrude, the noted female sculptress and founder of The Whitney Museum of Art. Gertrude was the daughter of New York Central Railroad heir Cornelius Vanderbilt II; Harry was the son of William Collins Whitney, Secretary of the Navy. Part of their luggage set from Old Westbury, this trunk traveled with the couple to Paris, Newport, Palm Beach, Cuba, and exotic locations around the globe. Complete with original labels confirming the Whitneys ownership and the LV serial number, 42834. A letter of authenticity can be provided to the successful bidder. [28" H x 44" W x 24 1/2" D]. And, in jewelry, a Patek Phillipe 18K Gold Men's Wrist Watch, yellow gold men's wrist watch, circa 1925; stamped "Patek Philippe & Co. / Geneve / Switzerland" on the face. Inside of back cover is stamped "18kt 287295", as is the inside of the dust cover. Top of dust cover marked "Patek Philippe & Co. Geneve Switzerland 184304". The 15-jewel mechanism is also signed and numbere 193167. The watch has a later 14K yellow gold mesh bracelet 7 3/8" - 7 5/8" long. Estimate $12-15,000.
