WEST PALM BEACH, FLA.- The Norton Museum of Art presents the 2022 Benefit Auction with Sothebys. The Benefit Auction, now in its third year, will showcase more than 45 exceptional works of art by pre-eminent artists from some of the worlds leading galleries.
Online bidding will be available to the public at Sothebys.com beginning Monday, March 28, 10am ET and closing Monday April 11, 4pm ET. A direct link to the auction will also be available at norton.org/auction2022. In advance of bidding, works will be available to view in person at the Norton Museum of Art and online starting Monday, March 14. Works will remain on view at the Norton throughout the duration of the auction.
Palm Beach County has emerged as an epicenter of the booming art world, having attracted many notable blue-chip art galleries and top collectors in recent years. The Norton's 2021 Benefit Auction drew global interest, with bidders and buyers from Saudi Arabia, France, Israel, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, and beyond.

All auction proceeds benefit the Nortons curatorial, learning, and community engagement programs.

The Museums Benefit Auction coincides with the annual Gala, which will take place Thursday, April 7. A work by contemporary American painter Will Cotton will also be auctioned live by Sothebys at the Gala, with the artist in attendance. Cottons works have been exhibited at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; The Seattle Art Museum; the Kunsthalle Bielefeld (Germany); the Hudson River Museum; and the Orlando Museum of Art, among others. Grounded in traditional painting inspired by the Hudson River School, Cotton is known for his surrealistic and sensual works inspired by candy and the female form. Established as an internationally acclaimed and versatile artist, Cotton broke pop-culture boundaries by serving as the Artistic Director for Katy Perrys 2010 music video, California Gurls.
