UTICA, NY.- Nicole Condon-Shih has been named Dean of the School of Art at
Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute, Utica, NY. She is currently the Chair of the Foundation Department and an Associate Professor at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
In her new position, which she will begin July 1, Condon-Shih will serve as the chief administrative officer of the Munson-Williams School of Art division, comprised of PrattMWP College of Art and Design and the Community Arts Education Program. PrattMWP is an extension campus of Pratt Institute, providing first year and second year instruction in fine arts, communications design, photography, and art and design education since 2000. The Community Arts Education program has offered noncredit art instruction to children, teens, and adults since 1941.
Munson-Williams President and CEO Anna DAmbrosio said Condon-Shih was selected following a national search. Nicole is a dedicated, thoughtful professional. Her academic and artistic achievements, administrative expertise, and positive energy will be an asset to Munson-Williams and to our community. Condon-Shih holds a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Hunter College, City University of New York, a Master of Science in Art Education from Syracuse University School of Education, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Cornell University. She also served as Head of Studio, International Foundation Course, at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, China. Her work has been showcased at the Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism & Architecture in Hong Kong, the B3+ Beijing: Biennale of the Moving Image in Beijing, China, and commissioned for Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and Summa Health Systems in Akron, Ohio.
