Top 5 Esports Jobs Besides Gaming

ESL or the Electronic Sports League describes the sport as one that "enjoys worldwide recognition as the fastest-growing segment of media and entertainment." The league further explains that Esports is "a sport where anybody can experience the thrill of victory." However, when faced with potential careers to explore in the e-sporting industry, many always think of becoming a professional e-gamer.

As the industry aims for over a billion dollars industry worth, it is crucial to identify what other careers one will find with its growth. The increase in employment opportunities is especially crucial as online casinos are continuously popping up worldwide. Plus, fans are on the rise, and people need a job even if it is not e-gaming.

1. Become a blogger or writer
2. Marketing
3. Announcers
4. Coding or technology experts
5. Esports designers

1. Become a Blogger, Writer, or Communications Expert

Individuals with outgoing personalities, love to socialize, and are passionate about imparting information can become e-sports bloggers, writers, or communications experts. Every day, news of new e-sport game launches, trending competitions, or reviews of the True Blue Australia casino appear. The E-sports industry being relatively new, requires individuals to disseminate information. You can write to inform, advertise or appeal to fans in support of a game or an upcoming event.

Bloggers can write about anything and everything about E-sports. You can delve into opponents resulting in player rivalries, sponsorship companies, entrepreneurial e-gamers, and many more. Fans often desire to bet but have no way of doing it. One of your blog topics can be on payment methods and why using crypto or digital coins is advisable to regular e-wallets!

Bloggers and writers have to be communications experts. Any information you distribute must be easy to understand and meet your audience's standards. Events can be a big deal to many players or fans. Thus, imparting information in the right way can make you famous and give you money simultaneously!

2. Marketing/ Sales/ Personal Relations Executives

All these professionals have a single target, increase sales and boost the e-sports brand. Marketing, sales, and PR have to mind the clients, pass the correct data and work together to design the perfect way to disseminate e-sports activities/ campaigns. These professionals are often the masters behind social media posts, e-sport company adverts, and growing a sports fan and customer base.

E-gaming professionals require social media, marketing, and personal relations professionals to improve their performances while on set. These professionals polish the company or players' image, keeping the source of income running and growing.

The more important function for these professionals is attracting partnerships and bringing in sponsors. The industry needs sponsors to thrive, and finding ways to bring them to the match or event is crucial. The sports sales team must ensure all tickets and promotional items are sold out to meet the targets! If you find a company such as Coca-Cola supporting your team, you have to wear their jersey and say a few promotional words, saying "Thank You" to these professional careers!

3. Announcers/ Shoutcasters

When watching football, you will always hear a person speaking, naming the person with the ball, identifying a pass, and shouting a corner or a goal once it goes through. These are game fans who stay close to the action but aren't in the match itself. Shoutcasters know the individuals in the match, understand the game features and rules and inform the fans of what is happening in the game. The Shoutcasters are an influencer, as they will add to the tension and rally the crowds in a win.

A shoutcaster or an announcer performs the same functions as a TV Host. In other words, the person behind the mike in the face of that specific brand. The host announces the teams on the field, introduces the match, highlights their strengths before the game, and discusses the critical details during game evaluations. It is a period when analysts sit and discuss the different aspects after the event is complete! However, the announcer's function is to make the match fun, engaging, and highly entertaining!

4. Coding or Technology Experts

E-sports is a technological development that allows individuals to play games on a virtual platform. These games are actual sports like football or rugby. However, the players are virtual, and the rules are the same as an actual Premier League match. The only difference is that one is an automated sport, while the other is a natural or actual sport. Players have to choose their representative players in the game before commencing the match.

It is a complicated technology that requires professional coding. The game software must be flawless, ensuring that the game loads, plays, and offers credits at the end of the day. Who wouldn't want a computerized game of the Blizzards or the Riot! If a future game design is incorporated into e-sports, these professionals can make that future a reality.

Coding experts are expected to design the e-sports game. Plus, the coding team or professional players have to test it to remove any errors or other issues. However, the coding and technology experts must be creative and design gaming worlds we aspire to join. Plus, a single game won't suffice as people desire something new and continuous once in a while. Therefore, continuity in an e-sport venture is advised!

5. Esports Architects and Designers

The popularity of e-sports events necessitates the building of e-sport arenas. In 2019, e-sports viewers totaled 400 million, and the number is expected to rise by 2024. The number does not include the fans and individuals present in the gaming arena. Similar to other sports, fans need space and direct views to watch and enjoy an e-sports match. Engineers, architects, and designers have to design and develop these spaces to incorporate the player's space and those of the fans.

As of now, Wikipedia reports only 19 e-sports gaming arenas across the universe. Event hosts report that over 48 million gamers watch and take part in e-sports activities. However, only a quarter of the number can attend a live e-sport event. However, the numbers are expected to rise over the coming years, thus creating larger gaming spaces. As of now, the Fusion Arena can be considered the largest proposed e-sport venue with a capacity of only 3,500 people. Some of the largest football stadiums can hold over 100,000 people. In comparison, the number and size of the e-sport arenas are relatively small.

Summary

In a growing industry, many careers or jobs will be emerging. If you cannot compete with the very best, you can become a tournament referee, a marketing expert, an e-sports blogger, or a team coach. It is essential to discover your worth before the industry advances further. You can also get the job of a game analyst, giving the data of past games and commenting on the current match. In other words, the e-sports industry provides a limitless number of jobs or careers to pursue. Don't get stuck in trying to compete and become an e-gamer. Other professions in the industry are also fulfilling!
