| Toledo Museum of Art Elects New Board Members |

TOLEDO, OHIO.- The Toledo Museum of Art is pleased to announce the addition of Bruce C. Carver, Dennis G. Johnson, and David K. “Deke” Welles Jr. to the Board of Directors elected at the annual meeting on December 14, 2004. The Board also elected a new slate of officers at the meeting, including George M. Jones, III, Chairman of the Board; Elizabeth Brady, Vice Chair; and George L. Chapman, Treasurer. Steven R. Coffin and Vernelis K. Armstrong were re-elected to their offices of Vice Chair and Secretary, respectively. Each of these officers shall serve a term of one year, or until successors have been elected and qualified.
Additionally, Darryl F. Allen, William W. Boeschenstein, and David K. Welles, Sr., were thanked for their years of dedicated service and contributions to the leadership of TMA as Board members and volunteers. All three will continue to serve and be recognized as honorary Board members.
The new board members bring a variety of skills and expertise to the Board, but hold a common belief in the Museum’s mission to integrate art into the lives of people.
Bruce C. Carver, Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Dana Corporation
Before joining Dana Corporation in September 2004, Carver served as Vice President and division Chief Information Officer for PepsiCo’s Beverages and Foods Division. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a master’s degree in Human Resources and Organizational Development from DePaul University in Chicago. In 2000, Computerworld magazine named Carver one of the top 100 information technology executives.
Dennis G. Johnson, President of Brooks Insurance Agency Inc.
Johnson is a Toledo native with 35 years’ experience in the insurance industry. He is a graduate of Holy Cross College and currently provides leadership for more than 85 associates in Ohio and Michigan offices. Johnson was named a 2003 Touchstone Contributor by the Press Club of Toledo for his dedication of time, financial support, and leadership in the community.
David K. “Deke” Welles Jr., Consultant, Therma-Tru Corp.
After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale College, Welles went on to serve various roles in Toledo’s Therma-Tru Corp., including Chairman; Chairman & CEO; and President & COO. He has earned numerous accolades, including American Marketing Association—Toledo Chapter’s “Marketing Man of the Year” (1984) and “Entrepreneur of the Year in Northwest Ohio—Manufacturing” (1995). Welles is also a former Chair of the Museum’s Business Council.
