DALLAS, TX.- Just two months after the hammer fell on its February 2016 New York City Platinum Night auction, the most important hobby event of the winter season, Heritage Sports Collectibles returns with one of the largest auction catalogs it has produced, May 12-14, 2016, including more than 4,000 lots of trading cards and memorabilia. The event is estimated to garner sales beyond $10 million.

"Our clientele continues to grow with every event," said Chris Ivy, Director of Heritage Sports Collectibles. "This auction should put us on pace to break our $40 million benchmark set in 2015, which is a great testament to health of the Sports Collectibles hobby."

Opening with Session One on Thursday, May 12, 2016, the auction begins with Trading Cards, offered in Extended Bidding format, consisting of an extraordinary compilation of rare and high-grade sets and single cards from over a century of sports history: The iconic Mickey Mantle rookie continues to take top hobby billing in the event, with top-tier examples of both his Topps and Bowman debuts. For those collectors whose interests trend more toward the Tobacco Era, a completely-graded T206 set will recall the glory days of Cobb and Mathewson, while an unopened 1971 Topps Baseball box is just one of the treasures awaiting collectors of virgin wax.

Session Two takes place on Friday, May 13, 2016 and features a wide array of game-used gear, autographs, awards and ephemera from the vast spectrum of sport. Anchoring the session is the personal collection of Dr. David Fischer, who served as team physician for the 1992 US Olympic Basketball "Dream Team," widely considered the greatest assembly of athletic talent ever to wear the same uniform. Fischer was gifted game worn sneakers from team members including Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird and nearly all the others, team signed basketballs, and his own Championship ring. All will sell without reserve.

Another edition of the Andy Leff Collection will tempt advanced hockey collectors with game-used jerseys, sticks and Championship awards from dozens of Hall of Famers and major stars. The auction will also feature the final offering of artifacts from The Bobby Murcer Collection, once again celebrating the beloved Yankees icon lost too soon after a valiant battle with cancer.

The auction concludes on Saturday, May 14, 2016, with Session Three: Final Session, featuring trading cards and memorabilia of more modest value.
