LISBON.- It is with great sadness that the
Lisbon Triennale announces the death of Diogo Seixas Lopes, architect and chief curator, with André Tavares, of The Form of Form the 4th edition of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale.
Diogo Seixas Lopes revealed from an early age a rare personality that inevitably lead him to become one of the most important thinkers about Portuguese architecture. The enormous relevance and unique quality of his career was evident throughout his multidisciplinary activity. Brilliant as an architect, curator, critic, lecturer, but also in the profound way in which he was involved in several architecture and architect's causes.
The professional path of Diogo Seixas Lopes often crossed paths with the Lisbon Triennale, culminating in this year's edition. The curatorial project of The Form of Form, that is almost complete, will be conducted until the end by André Tavares. Today, Portuguese architecture mourns an irreparable loss.
A great architect and human being with rare qualities has disappeared with an extraordinary future still ahead of him. To his family and friends, the Triennale gives its most sincere condolences.
