IPSWICH.- Ipswich Borough Council is leading this bid to change the face of Ipswich with the most ambitious cultural and heritage project the town has ever seen.
Currently, the Museum, the Art School Gallery, the High Street Exhibition Gallery and the New Wolsey Studio are stand-alone buildings. All that will change with this project. A new entrance common to all parts of the site an "inner street" will bring all the separate parts together. More gallery space will allow more of Ipswich's heritage to be seen and enjoyed and the council will enable and encourage visitors to use new and innovative ways of interpreting the Ipswich story.
This will create a national visitor attraction that will transform Ipswich's cultural offer and boost the local economy. It will also create a new learning centre of excellence and a place for the community.
The High Street Campus will also be a learning centre of excellence as Ipswich Borough Council works with the community and University Campus Suffolk to make this vision a reality.
