LINCOLN, NE.- Sheldon Museum of Art at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will present "For Business and Pleasure: A Symposium on Corporate and Private Collecting," 10 a.m.-1 p.m. March 28.
The symposium, in the Ethel S. Abbott Auditorium at the Sheldon, 12th and R streets, will explore the history of corporate collecting, challenge myths about why corporations collect artwork, and examine how art collections are used within a corporation. It will also address private collecting, and how and why individuals begin to collect works of art.
The speakers are:
* Ann Daley, art adviser and former curator of western American art at the Denver Art Museum
* Janet Farber, director for the Phillip Schrager Collection of Contemporary Art in Omaha
* Shelley Hagen, curator of the Wachovia Corporate Art Collection
** H. Scott Westover, curator for The Progressive Art Collection, Cleveland, Ohio
An afternoon tour of the private art collections of Karen and Robert Duncan and Marc and Kathy LeBaron, both in Lincoln, will be offered. Space on the tour is limited to 40 people.

Registration is $10 for nonmembers, $15 for registration on the day of the event. The art collections tour is an additional $10.
