Cheekwood Museum of Art Presents Its Second Scarecrows Exhibition |
NASHVILLE, TN.- Cheekwood Botanical Garden & Museum of Art presents the second annual exhibition, Scarecrows, on display September 27 through November 9. Dozens of fabulous, weird, funny, and traditional scarecrows will lurk along Cheekwoods paths. The community is invited to participate by designing one of the many scarecrows that will be displayed.
Designers who are selected will receive the framework for the Scarecrow and will be responsible for construction, installation, and removal of each structure.
The history of scarecrows dates back 3000 years. Farmers still use scarecrows all over the world. During the growing season scarecrows still stand in fields around the world and each fall many communities have scarecrow contests. Cheekwoods Scarecrows is already a fall tradition for Middle Tennessee families!
Cheekwood inspires and educates by making art, horticulture and nature accessible to a diverse community. Cheekwood is located at 1200 Forrest Park Drive in Nashville, 8 miles southwest of downtown Nashville.
