LONDON.- Curator-artists Geraldine Swayne, Howard Dyke and Iavor Lubomirov have stitched together a haunting exhibition of surprising scale and depth. Responding to the raw and unfinished interiors of this soon-to-be-developed new gallery space, and representing a chance meeting between artists who share the same instincts and values, Fresh Air Machine breathes new life into the East London arts scene.
Minou Norouzi, Lyle Perkins, Raul Pina, Harry Pie & Rowland Smith, Rachael Robb, Penelope Lamb, Sarah Sparkes and Lee Maulzer are just a few of the artists who will be exhibiting at Calvert 22 in September, alongside the curators themselves. Telling tales of the unexpected through a variety of media, from painterly abstract imaginings and the stuff of childhood dreams and nightmares, to works invoking fetish, custom and ritual, some of Londons brightest new talents blow away the cobwebs and show together for the first time.
