DENVER, CO.- The Museum of Contemporary Art | Denver (MCA Denver) invites members and the public to attend its 11th Annual Meeting to celebrate our successes of 2006. The meeting will be held at MCA’s temporary | contemporary located at 1840 15th Street (15th and Delgany) and will begin at 6 pm. To update members and the community, Executive Director/Chief Curator Cydney Payton will present highlights of the year of “Construction as a Creative Act” which will include building progress, upcoming plans for MCA and announcement of MCA’s landscape architect for the Gates Rooftop Garden .

MCA Denver founder Sue Cannon will present the 7th Annual Sue Cannon Award which recognizes an individual dedicated to taking a leadership role in the visual arts throughout their lifetime. The 2007 award recipient is Devon Dikeou. “ Devon is an amazing supporter of MCA providing curatorial insight, collaboration and financial support over many years” Ms. Dikeou is Editor /Publisher of zingmagazine and made the Dikeou Collection which includes some of the most prominent contemporary works in the world. In addition to being a contemporary art supporter, Ms. Dikeou is also an artist who has taken part in over 90 shows, 11 of which were solo and received prominent recognition for her work including Brown University ’s Albin Polasak Award for Fine Arts.

Thirteen volunteers and seven businesses will be honored for their outstanding support of MCA Denver and its mission. Businesses to be honored include: Continuum Partners, LLC, Joy Wine and Spirits, Three Tomatoes Catering, M.A. Mortenson Company, NSO Press, Riverfront Park Community Foundation and Room & Board. Volunteers will be honored for their dedication, time and service to MCA Denver.
