NEW YORK, NY.- Christie's announced Post-War to Present taking place live on October 1st at Christie's Rockefeller Center saleroom in New York. The sale kicks off the fall season of 20/21 sales with an enviable selection of works by a diverse cross-section of post-war and contemporary artists working across mediums of all types. In total, the sale includes 236 works and is expected to achieve more than $26.9 million.

McNeil, Jr. and The Collection of Barbara Jakobson, with both collections represented by exceptional works by Minimalist master Donald Judd.”
The top lot of the sale is a red anodized Donald Judd sculpture, a rare bullnose progression dating from the late 1960s that hails from the collection of Barbara Jakobson. Other top lots include a jewel-toned, large-scale beveled edge painting by Sam Gilliam, Region and Mind, which has been held in a private Washington, D.C. collection since it was purchased from the artist's studio in 1971, Big Agnes, a seminal portrait by Lisa Yuskavage from the 1990s and Coastal Farms, a masterful landscape painting by legendary Bay Area painter Wayne Thiebaud from his River Delta series.
The sale is further highlighted by Property from the Esteemed Collection of Dr. John T. O'Neal, Boston and an exquisite selection of works on paper from private collection Everything Becomes Abstract: Works from an Esteemed Private Collection, which includes early works by Ellsworth Kelly, Agnes Martin, Annie Albers and more. Other highlights include portraits and still lifes by the celebrated Colombian artist Fernando Botero, a sublime portrait by Elizabeth Peyton and paintings and works on paper by George Condo.
