EAST HAMPTON, NY.- Abstract art painter Dan Christensen, 64, died in East Hampton, N.Y. He was born Daniel James Christensen in Cozad, Neb. As a teenager he took a trip to Denver and saw Jackson Pollock’s works and was inspired to be a painter. He graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute in Missouri with a B.F.A. in 1964. In 1965 he moved to New York City. He began to use spray guns to paint. Museums such as the Museum of Modern Art, the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco and the Whitney Museum of American Art, hold some of his works.
