The exhibition On Observation at the 1215 gallery, Avenue Greene in Montreal’s Westmount. The gallery serves a measured architecture of quiet, with concrete floors, open sightlines and softened daylight slow the pace of seeing. In this exhibition, observing turns to an act of arrival, a soft crossing from the outside world into a space of attentiveness.
In this exhibition, observation is never a neutral act. It is a practice of searching that binds human to nature, individual to society, feeling to the moment. On Observation unveils how perception influences shape to truth and ambiguity alike and how the act of observing can unveils mystery histories while holding the sence of tenderness and discomfort. Qingyuan Liang’s The Pink Man unsettles gendered associations by rendering masculinity through the tender register of pink. In Corporeal Entanglements, Chun Ding layers organic vitality against geometric rigor, creating a rhythm where nature and structure press against one another. Xiao Ge’s art piece Memory and Displacement, a shifting site for fragmented memories and the fragile architectures of belonging.
This exhibition ask us to meet the world with awaking and to feeling that every meet, whether with feeling, touching or acting, is also an encounter with ourselves. On Observation invites everyone to involve in this conversation, so we can turns looking to listening and attention to a form of understanding.
