NEW YORK, NY.- Didier Aaron is presenting Travelling is an Art: 7e Drawings of Jean-Pierre Heim, an exhibition showcasing the evocative travel drawings of the internationally acclaimed and award-winning architect.
Inspired by his sojourns across more than 80 countries including Egypt, Sudan, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Greece, China, Tibet, and Central and South Asia, the drawings of Jean-Pierre Heim document his travels using an expressive interplay of linework and color. Combining the precision of architectural blueprints with the spontaneity of sketch-book drawings, Heims immersive body of work presents a majestic vision of ancient ruins, world monuments, and wind-swept deserts.
As an architect, Heim harmonizes culture, design, and innovation, to foster a tangible connection between his buildings and their inhabitants- -his drawings similarly unite ink with watercolor and collage to offer viewers an intimate glimpse through time.
JEAN-PIERRE HEIM
Jean-Pierre Heim is the founder of Jean-Pierre HEIM and Associates, with offices in New York, Paris, Athens, and Shanghai. His diverse portfolio includes luxury hotels, restaurants, commercial centers, resorts, private residences, and yachts worldwide. His travels pictures have been collected by UNESCO, the Musée de lHomme in Paris, and the Centre Pompidou. Heim has collaborated with esteemed clients such as Van Cleef & Arpels, Baccarat, and Club Med, and has designed renowned venues including The Capitol Music Theater in Frankfurt Offenbach and the Shanghai Yacht Club. He has also contributed to conceptual projects like the Delos Museum in Greece and the Notre-Dame roof and spire redesign in Paris. A graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he also studied at the University of Illinois. He has been honored as a Chevalier de lOrdre National du Mérite, is a member of The Explorers Club, the Monaco Yacht Club, the Société de Géographie in Paris, and is a co-founder of The French Will Never Forget, a New York based non- profit which celebrates French American friendship.
