AALBORG.- Step into a poetic and sensory universe and experience works from Kunstens collection, staged and curated by the Danish fashion designer, Stine Goya.
Kunsten has invited the internationally renowned Danish fashion designer Stine Goya to explore the museums collection of nearly 4,000 artworks. The result is an aesthetic, intuitive art experience featuring carefully selected works that, in interaction, create a narrative about separation, longing, dreams, and desire.
Instead of following a classical art historical narrative, the exhibition emphasizes an aesthetic, sensory-driven, and personal approach, offering new perspectives and insights into Kunstens collection.
For Stine Goya, the personal focus in curating the exhibition has revolved around separation as a fundamental condition of life. This has shaped the selection of artworks that touch on themes such as motherhood, searching, death, longing, loneliness, and hope.
Separation, to me, is a fundamental condition of life; a recurring theme in my life. Both as a mother, a daughter, and a wife. The discomfort of separation creates a paradox, as it presupposes a connection and togethernesssomething good and comforting. Yet, I always become emotional when something good comes to an end, Stine Goya.
The exhibition features works from Kunstens collection by artists such as Lene Adler Petersen (b. 1944), Lucio Fontana (1899-1968), Kirsten Ortwed (b. 1948), Morten Søndergaard (b. 1964), Sophia Kalkau (b. 1960), Inuuteq Storch (b. 1989), Kirsten Christensen (b. 1943), Anette Harboe Flensburg (b. 1961), Ida Sønder Thorhauge (b. 1990), Sven Dalsgaard (1914-1999), Geoffrey Hendricks (1931-2018), among others.
