Tim Schmelcher, International Specialist, Prints and Multiples, Christies London: We are thrilled with the outstanding results achieved in today's auction of The Sam Josefowitz Collection: Graphic Masterpieces by Rembrandt van Rijn Part II, building on the remarkable success of last years sale. This collection represents the most exceptional private ensemble of Rembrandts graphic works, distinguished by its extraordinary depth and rarity. The robust market for Old Master prints was evident in the records achieved for works such as Christ crucified between the two Thieves: 'The Three Crosses', The Entombment and Woman with the Arrow. We are delighted that bidders responded enthusiastically to Sam Josefowitzs passion, connoisseurship and vision as one of the greatest Prints collectors of the 20th century. We look forward to the third sale of this fabled collection in December 2025.
