NEW YORK, NY.- The fall season of art fairs, auctions and blockbuster gallery exhibitions has arrived. The annual
Madison Avenue Fall Gallery Walk on Saturday, October 26 will offer the public the opportunity to see whats new and visit the premier roster of 50 galleries located on Madison Avenue between East 57 and East 86th Streets and adjacent side streets.
The range of exhibitions will please every collector and art enthusiast. This fall, 50 galleries are opening their doors to invite the public to view the new exhibitions many just unveiled. There will be curator talks and tours to enjoy, and the opportunity to meet some of the artists. Talks & Tours highlights include:
David Zwirner: Artist Sam Messer will host a special life-drawing event to celebrate the final day of No straight lines, an exhibition exploring the legacy of self-taught American painter Jon Serl. DFN Project: A talk and book signing: Kristy Gordon: Map of the Universe presented by Garvey|Simon. Surrealist figurative paintings in celebration of women and other marginalized groups explored through the lens of mysticism and spirituality. Leila Heller Gallery Artist Talk & Tour: A solo exhibition of work by Ran Hwang. Residing in Seoul and New York City, Hwang is renowned for her intricate contemporary installations, featured in numerous private and public collections, including The Brooklyn Museum and The National Museum of Contemporary Art, Seoul.
Luxembourg + Co: Gallery Director Talk with Alma Luxembourg on two innovators in the field of sculpture, Isamu Noguchi and Katsumi Nakai, who shared an exceptional ability to translate their Japanese cultural heritage into new geographic contexts.
Presented by the Madison Avenue B.I.D. in association with ARTnews, there will be a Gallery Walk Information Tent on the west side of Madison Avenue between East 78 and East 79 Streets providing self-guided maps listing all the galleries and programming. List of galleries include:
