NEW YORK, NY.- C24 Gallery announced that Fırat Neziroğlu has joined the gallery's roster of represented artists.

Fırat Neziroğlu is Turkish-born artist based in Istanbul. He is known worldwide for a dynamic weaving style built on the legacy of Anatolian weaving traditions. Utilizing homemade, custom-dyed wool, Neziroğlu elevates a centuries-old artform to new heights with contemporary images and content, creating three-dimensional portraits of his dear friends, cherished animal companions, and public figures, incorporating bold colors and original, patented weaving techniques into striking, textured works of art.

The first in the field of weaving to incorporate fishing line, Neziroğlu's works bring a different perspective to the classical weaving painting tradition. They have been sold in London, Istanbul, Munich, Paris, Incheon, Washington, Hawaii, New York, Kitakyushu, Shanghai, Tenjin, Chonburi, New Delhi, Venice, and Buenos Aires, and have been exhibited in Como, Rome, and Maniago. Introducing Anatolia to the world with his YEN collection at New York Fashion Week 2020, his clothing designs were exhibited at La Triennale di Milano, Royal Norwegian Embassy and Victoria House in London.

Neziroğlu's works have been featured in auction houses including Sotheby's and Christie's and have enabled him to be invited to many official events abroad for special production. The artist traveled to Oslo under the auspices of the Royal Norwegian Embassy to celebrate the Queen's birthday; In 2017, he was invited to Qatar to knit a custom knit by Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani; and he was commissioned to create a portrait of Queen Elizabeth in 2019. He studied at Dokuz Eylul University, Department of Textile and Fashion Design, continues his doctoral studies in the same department, and lives and continues his studies in Istanbul.

Neziroğlu’s tapestries were first seen in New York in his 2023 C24 Gallery exhibition, Thinking of You. His newest work, highlighting the current plight of beloved “stray” animals in Turkey is currently on view with C24 Gallery at Contemporary Istanbul, Booth T1-05, through October 27th, along with pieces by artists Gabe BC, İrfan Önürmen, Brendan Lee Satish Tang, and Patricia Waller.
