CALGARY, AB.- Rare Method has been awarded an RFP assignment from Calgary ’s Glenbow Museum to create an interactive and deeply experiential website that showcases contemporary art from some of Canada ’s most important artists. Developed in partnership with the Virtual Museum of Canada (VCM), the project is titled Fresh Art: Canadian Contemporary Art from Glenbow’s Collections and will target teens and Alberta students by focusing on an inquiry based learning experience, rich with two-way communication technologies, sophisticated meta data modeling and integrated online video.

“This repeat assignment from Glenbow will highlight contemporary art with an emphasis on artists based in Alberta and Western Canada ,” says Rare Method President Roger Jewett.

“The focus will be on nationally significant artists as well as established emerging artists over a 45-year period from the 1960s to 2005. Rare Method’s digital creative design and programming teams will create a bilingual interactive online experience that allows adults and students to explore art through a number of innovative online access points.”

Jewett added that work has started on the site. Launch date is anticipated to be in March 2007.
