Sotheby's to open two-storey Maison in the heart of Hong Kong's Central district |

HONG KONG.- Sotheby's will move to its new Maison on 27 July, offering a portal to a world of boundless inspiration and discovery. Showcasing hundreds of objects across art and luxury available for the public to view and purchase seven days a week in its 24,000 square-foot space, Sothebys invites newcomers and seasoned connoisseurs at Landmark Chater in the heart of Hong Kongs Central district to a journey through 80 million years of history, across more than 20 categories, spanning all continents and artistic endeavours.
Sothebys two-storey Maison presents a groundbreaking dual concept: the ground floor houses a dramatic state-of- the-art space designed for immersive experiences and moments of contemplation, where museum-grade exhibitions and performances will be staged, alongside Sothebys signature auction exhibitions spread throughout the year. The first floor features a uniquely curated retail experience exploring an array of cross-category art, luxury and collectibles spanning 80 million years of history and offered for instant purchase at prices ranging from HK$5,000 to HK$50 million.
On the ground floor, a series of debut exhibitions will run through this summer. Sothebys is honoured to present Bodhi: Masterpieces of Monumental Buddhist Art, an exhibition of monumental Buddhist sculpture tracing the development of Buddhist art. The captivating narrative continues with ICE: Two Masterworks on Loan from the Long Museum, that transcends time and geography. Gerhard Richters Eisberg, the ultimate example of the artists painterly re-examination of the landscape genre for the photographic age; and an exceptionally rare Ru ware brushwasher made circa 1100 in China, the beauty of its ice-like crackle having been praised by emperors and scholars for nearly a millennium.

In celebration of the launch of Sothebys new spaces in Hong Kong, Paris, and New York, a short film voiced by actor Charles Dance OBE will pay cinematic tribute to the power of creativity; transporting the audience to Another World With its accessible, immersive exhibitions and acclaimed cultural programming, Sothebys is proud to share the unique stories of visionaries and remarkable objects with the public every single day.
