PARIS.- Thaddaeus Ropac shared the news with you that Laetitia Catoir has joined the gallery as a Senior Director, based in Paris. Her new position encompasses global leadership of the gallery's Secondary Market Department, as well as working in primary market sales. Over the course of almost three decades in the industry, she has established a reputation for her exceptional expertise in post-war and contemporary art and curating, as well as for her instrumental role in commissions and acquisitions for both private and institutional collections.

We are extremely happy to welcome Laetitia to the team. Her extraordinary depth of knowledge, combined with her warm and professional approach to fostering meaningful relationships, very much complements the attributes and values of our global team. Over the past decade we have embraced new artists at the gallery while also growing our secondary market offering, at first focusing on works by the artists, estates and foundations that we represent, but progressively broadening beyond this. We now welcome Laetitia's advisory and curatorial skills in leading this expanded area of the gallery's offering. — Thaddaeus Ropac

After completing master’s degrees at the École du Louvre and the Sorbonne University, Paris – in Museum Studies and Art History, respectively – Laetitia worked at Christie’s London for close to a decade, first as a Specialist and later as a Director in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Department. She then moved to New York where she joined Phillips de Pury, later returning to London to take up a position as a Director at Blain|Southern for a decade. Laetitia moved to Hauser & Wirth London as a Senior Director, where she was responsible for the launch and operation of their Monaco gallery and exhibition programme, before her most recent role at Lévy Gorvy Dayan from where she now joins Thaddaeus Ropac gallery.

Beyond her gallery roles, Laetitia is one the founding members of the board of 1-54, she sits on the board of Raw Material Company – the art centre and residency in Dakar – and has curated numerous independent projects. She continues to participate in arts panels and juries in Europe and internationally.

I am thrilled to be joining Thaddaeus and his team in Paris where the gallery has a longstanding history. I have always greatly admired the gallery's programme, and Thaddaeus's reputation for integrity and commitment to his artists. I look forward to collaborating with the international team to develop the secondary market and advisory branch of the gallery, as well as working with such an exceptional array of artists. — Laetitia Catoir

Laetitia can be contacted at Laetitia.Catoir@ropac.net and will join the Thaddaeus Ropac team on the booth at Art Basel next week, where we look forward to introducing you if you aren't already acquainted.
